At Copperpond Labradors we are passionate about our furry family members! We love helping people find the perfect new addition for their families and enjoy a reputation as a kind, caring and ethical Dog Breeder. Find out more about us and about our Labradors below.
We are a small family operation in the East Kootenays of BC. All of our dogs live in our home as part of our family. We spend much of our free time exploring, hiking and camping with our dogs.
At Copperpond Labradors, we have about two litters a year and currently accept applicants for our puppy waiting list. We are devoted to the health and quality of life of all our dogs. We currently are keeping our clients updated during the Covid-19 pandemic through Facebook and Instagram.
All of our breeding dogs are screened for Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Cardiac, CNM, DM, EIC, PRA, HNP, RD and SD2.
Puppies go home at 8-9 weeks. They have basic housetraining, are microchipped and tattooed, dewormed and have their first vaccination. Each puppy comes with a 2 year Genetic Warranty, Lifetime Breeder Support and Lifetime Return Policy. This guarantees us both that none of our Labrador puppies will end up in an animal shelter and it ensures you are secure and comfortable in your decision to become a part of the Copperpond Labrador family!

How We Got Started
Both Patrick and I were raised on farms, going through childhood with all manner of dogs at our sides. How can you not adore the loyalty and companionship of a furry friend?! When we got married and started a family of our own, we knew we wanted our kids to be raised with dogs. Our first dog was a dachshund and eventually our Labradors joined the family too.
After acquiring a lot of information about the heritage, lineage and breeding of Labs, we decided to do our part in preserving it and treasuring the amazing breed that Labradors are, which led to the birth of our East Kootenay business. Since then, we’ve known so much love, joy and adventure!
PET CONTRACT AND WARRANTY
Our puppies are sold with a pet contract, which includes a written warranty and non-breeding agreement.
A Non-Breeding Agreement (also known as a "Limited Registration") is how our pups are sold. The CKC registration will show that the buyer is the full owner of the pup but that the pup will not be used for breeding. All of our puppies sold must be spayed or neutered when they have reached maturity. The contract must be signed by both the buyer and the breeder before taking possession of the puppy.
The purpose of the Non-Breeding Agreement is to discourage irresponsible breeding.
However, this pup may still be entered in shows and trials by the buyer at any time. It doesn't limit your ownership in any way, other than breeding.
See the Important FAQ Tab for more information about our warranty and pet contract.
